So why say 'Preservation' should be taken out when people can go on it all day for free?

what about commuters? Even though it may not be free, they still gather up tonnes of miles when some of us walk to work and dont have a chance in getting any miles done.

I'm not trying to offend commuters I'm suggesting maybe a note should be made that it is commuter miles, or maybe split commute and leisure up?

Lets face it this relies on honesty anyway as no one audits the competition, so if you think your travel was 'rail' then count it.........

3rd class == 2nd class all my miles are so so me and everyone else who is only 2nd class will win. It's not a competition.

I was just going along with Gizzy's post about 'cheating' and going up and down preserved lines all day to get loads of miles when its exactly the same with commuting.

I know someone who commutes and does about 50 miles a day, leisure wise would be half that miles.

Unless I have got the wrong end of the stick with the preserved lines thing??

Still not quite finished with my foreign trips. Spent ages trying to work out a very long distance in France yesterday, have a rough total but it looks too far to me, so will need further investigation before it is added to my total.
