Had a potter along the MNR today as we wanted to visit Wymondham Abbey in the lovely weather.

Nothing special about the service, it was 142061.
When we got back to Dereham I did a short vid clip passing 50019 Ramillies outside the shed.
She’s coming on nicely
The class 03 was in the bay platform.
33202 was shunting stock around.
47596 Adelburgh Festival was sandwiched between two rakes of stock by the platform.
47580 County of Essex was alongside on the other platform with a few mk 3 coaches parked up with her cab by the level crossing.

Like the North Norfolk Railway this is another very friendly railway with staff smiling willing to help out anyway they could
A return for us two cost £30
The train out was packed as there was a coach party booked on it

Well done NNR & MNR 10/10 for effort
Other big preserved lines could learn a thing or two!

Yep, that's me!

Hopefully shall have 50019 hauling trains again next year all being well. The team of volunteers working on the loco are making brilliant progress every week with it.

Should be a good year for English Electric traction next year at the MNR with the 37 due back into service as well as Ramilies

The 50 group are hoping for a start up towards the end of the year assuming all goes to plan, although work still needed on the wheelsets

You can follow progress on the 50 here - https://www.facebook.com/groups/845017595973942

I also enjoyed a visit to the Mid Norfolk Railway. Top marks particularly to the catering at Dereham but all the tean were great. A good day out if you are in the area.
