Certainly is interesting and could go one of several ways including badly and quite well. It seems that Skype are retaining a decent measure of freedom for the time being, whilst Skype is going to be integrated onto several different Microsoft products which is quite handy.

Still if they do start charging for Skype to Skype I suspect their user base is going to collapse pretty promptly.

I read this in a newspaper yesterday (I forget which; the Evening Standard possibly?) and saw nothing to suggest MS will charge users in any way that is difference to Skype at present. In other words, that would suggest Skype calls and conferences will remain free of charge.
