At this time and as an avid Motorsport fan I hope Michael Schumacher pulls though the terrible accident.

It was a terrible accident especially for his son to see.

I would like to see him racing a rally car one day.

Thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends for him to pull through.

It is said that the drivers of F1 in their retirement, still crave excitement, as this is part and parcel of their nature and they seek new outlets to obtain this. It was off-piste when the ski-ing accident occurred and those areas can contain hidden dangers. That said, he was a great advertisement for F1 in his prime and had epic struggles with other great drivers over many years.

Our family offer our prayers that the medically induced coma will enable to doctors to do all they possibly can for him, but the latest news flash is not good.

Full respect given to him and his family but the fact that it is top story I think is wrong: 14 people DIED in a suicide bombing yet 1 racing driver had a skiing accident where he has a major injury.

Um, first the bomb WAS the top story on the BBC website for a while. But the Schumacher story is on-going where as the bomb story isn't.

Secondly, "news" isn't what most "important" it's what people are going be interested in. The bomb was in Russia, which won't affect most people here. People here have more of a connection with Schumacher.

Anyway, far more those 14 die around the world every day, but they're not at the top of the news either.

I agree completely. Anyway, in order to save this thread from another debate on what the good old BBC judge to be newsworthy, as an avid F1 fan, I just wanted to say that Schumacer is a legend and I would be absolutely gutted if he didn't recover. Let's hope he pulls through.
