Curve after Pomona is practically 90°

In the city centre there are restrictions of 10 and 12.

On a side note temporary restriction signs need to be fixed to poles better, they currently use bown parcel tape which when removes can strip paint of OHLE posts :(

Fastest speeds (50 mph) are on the ORL however don't think they ever get up to this! Think there's a few stretches of 40 on the SML and Altrincham lines

Actually, most of the Altrincham and Bury lines are 50 - and this speed is reached between almost all stations. On the Bury line it is 50 between Queens Road and Bury (except for a short stint at Abraham Moss), and between Old Trafford and Timperley on the Altrincham line; however there are also a few TSRs in effect at the moment.

The ORL and SML are also mostly 50, but have a lot more speed restrictions to enable line-of-sight driving -ie the speed limit drops to enable drivers to stop in the event of an obstruction/tram ahead. The timetables are also fairly slack on these lines so drivers may hang below the speed limit to maintain the timetable.

Indeed hence why the speed on the cornbrook viaduct has dropped from 50 to 30 following TMS

Don't travel on the bury line much so never really get much experience past irk valley.

Noticed a temporary of 40 just before West Didsbury coming from East Diddsbury a few weeks ago does anyone know what the track theres actual speed will be post restriction

It is tight but is 10mph (at least when pedestrians aren't in the way...)

According to this RAIB report on a derailment there, the curve at Pomona is 40 metres radius.

http://www.raib.gov.uk/publications/investigation_reports/reports_2008/report092008.cfm

I believe the minimum radius specified for Metrolink is 25m but I don't have details of the actual radii used in the city centre. By contrast Nottingham has an 18m radius curve and I have been shown a curve in Berlin by one of their engineers which he informed me was 14m radius.
