Out in service on Monday were:

5022 + 5112
5060 + 5090
5116 + 5188
5062 + 5118
5102 + 5094
5034 + 5230

All were out off peak, so Friday was not after all the end of off peak working! :)

Rather interestingly, all were on Uxbridge diagrams until the peak so the effect was to actually increase the intensity of A Stock working as a result of the shorter end to end time... :)

Apologies for my recent silence; my computer had a motherboard failure - now sorted.

Aren't Uxbridge and Watford part of the same diagrams ?

When I was bashing A stock units a few weeks ago, units which arrived at Baker Street from Uxbridge formed a Watford service and vice versa.

I don't think so unless there was some kind of stepping up of diagrams; at least off peak the Uxbridges seem to stay put. Certainly on Monday I was out long enough for most stock to do at least three return trips and it was the same stuff going to Uxbridge each time.

Maybe they've just changed the diagrams to try to keep the longer runs S Stock as far as possible?

indeed with the off-peak numbering not being valid in the peak, I'm sure it was train 406 I saw semi-fast to Watford yesterday evening!

Are they still running? Do we have a date yet for the final passenger service?
It now looks as if the last A Stock ran in service in the morning of Friday 27 July when T461 started from WAT1, 5118+5189.

There maybe one "last running day" just before the planned official Rail Tour on Saturday 29 September. (Weds 26 Sept has been suggested by 1 person)

Will this be one train working an evening peak diagram (like they did on the last day of the 1967 stock last year ?

Full booking details will shortly be available on the LTMuseum website.

It is suggested the Tour will start & finish at Moorgate (bay) then traverse the whole of the MET including the North Curve. No other UndergrounD Line will be visited.

A price of £25 has been suggested.

If rumour has it - £25 to travel on a train that 1 year ago you could of done that whole route for under £5 in less crowded conditions. What a joke.

Wouldn't particularly fancy doing this being sat in one of the middle seats!

While it's nice the proceeds will go to a good cause, I can't help but feel £40 is very steep in the tour is just going to traverse the Met line - I know the A Stock is cleared to few other places, but even so £40 seems a lot. I still really want to see the stock off though, and as I don't live near London - it's my only real chance!

Any idea what the route will be?

Thanks for the information. It's good to hear that they're giving the remaining A Stock a spin in service while they are still available.

I have good memories of waiting ages at Clapham Common back in October 1999 for one of the few remaining 1959 stock to appear in service for the evening peak.

Deep tube stock is too small and the stations will be too hot
