The Messenger Service has been down for pretty much all afternoon?

Thanks - it was 3 hours before Messenger reported:

Singing into Windows Live Messenger failed because the service is currently unavailable. Please try again later.

Error Code: 81000314

Before it was just saying it couldn't connect and it was a problem with my firewall.

Wasn't when I just tried, for the 20th time, to log in!

Will try once more at 2005, then every 5 minutes.

I'm on here. Have been since 4.59pm when it let me back in.

Yes, it is intermittent - it isn't totally down but looks to be running on a reduced number of servers. Therefore continually logging on every 20 seconds will just mean the servers become clogged up and they themselves fail.

I managed to sign onto Windows Messenger, but being the prat I am, I logged off in the hope Live Messenger would work! Then it didn't...
