Merseyrail vacancies

Just a heads up for anyone in the North-West looking to join the railway, a number of vacancies for station assistants are now being advertised on the Merseyrail website. Although advertised as temporary (12 month contract) there's usually a good chance of being kept permanently.

Any idea what the pay is? Am not applying, I am just interested to know.

I know a few lads who work for them down at Birkenhead, they seem fairly happy.

From what im told Merseyrail are very big on recruitment from within and will reward hard work, I hear this recruitment drive is due to station staff landing Guards jobs. So if you are looking for a start then this might be a very good way to get your foot in the door
