Merseyrail strikes April?

Does anyone know if there is any likelihood of there being another Merseyrail guards strike on Tuesday 17 April? I have flights booked and will be travelling back from Heathrow late. I will be wanting a Southport service during the last hour of service.

Does anyone know how likely or unlikely it is that they'll strike on that day?

Very unlikely, considering there will inevitably be strike action to coincide with the Grand National a few days earlier.

Is there a significant event that day? I don't think anyone could say with any certainty whether there will be a strike or not. But as the poster above says, with the Grand National not long before, the day of that will be a more likely target.

I agree with previous posters; any strike is likely to target the Grand National from 12-14 April. I believe UK law requires two weeks notice of any industrial action so you will not know for sure until 3 April, although I think previous strike dates have been announced a few days before the two week deadline.
