Looks like bustitution is over but 30 minute services on all lines except Liverpool Central to Southport where 15 minutes will be operated.

From Monday 13 June, services will resume on Kirkby & New Brighton lines but with changes to train times and frequency.

Trains will run every 30 minutes on the Ormskirk, Kirkby, Hunts Cross, New Brighton, West Kirby, Chester & Ellesmere Port lines. Trains will run every 15 minutes between Southport and Liverpool Central.

Currently a rail replacement bus service is still running on the Kirkby & New Brighton lines and there are some cancellations on the West Kirby, Chester & Ellesmere Port lines.

This is due to the increase in wheel bearing faults.

We ask passengers to check before you travel and please allow more time for your journey

Merseyrail have just announced that the normal 15-minute timetable returns on Monday 20th June (just in time to be messed up by strike action!).

We are pleased to announce that a 15-minute service will operate on most parts of the network from Monday 20 June.

The change follows emergency timetables put in place over the last two weeks, as a result of an unexpected and significant increase in wheel bearing faults. This significantly affected the number of trains available to run, with those trains found to have the fault being taken out of service for repair.

Strike action involving Network Rail staff will take place on Tuesday 21, Thursday 23 and Saturday 25 June. There is likely to be a significant impact on our services on days when strikes are taking place. We will share passenger travel advice alongside the rest of the UK rail network later this week.
