507003 is at Southport now ECS from New Brighton so presumably 507018 carried passengers for the last time this morning.

Edit: Indeed the case. 018 is done; it is about to leave Southport ECS for the last time. I'm glad to have made the effort to ride it this morning. A superb unit which will be sorely missed.
Why go to the hassle of swapping them? Do they remaining units have different lease end dates?

Looking like it's 003 and 029 on the 1603, they're coupled up and the boards are showing 6 car

Edit: can confirm it's 003 and 029 on this service

No, Its to do with unit availability usually, And also what the easiest option is. Although it is very oblivious of them to swap 018 with 003, As 003 is the most sluggish and unfit unit for service out of the fleet. 007 could do a better job at running in service than 003 could

Probably the logic is 029 can tow it along and they can keep 023 if it's needed on the Wirral lines.

You'd think if 018 had to go first for whatever reason they could swap its motors or camshaft into 003 given the plan seems to be to hold onto 003 until the end.

Seems to be keeping up time alright so far, the doors opened and closed about 5 times at Southport before we eventually set off, not sure why that happened

There's no point for the sake of a few weeks, when I had it home late the other night on the Chester line it was only a couple of minutes down, most likely due to weekend evening passenger loadings - the 777s are often a few minutes late when I catch one home on a late night Chester service of a weekend. While 003 is a sluggish one it still manages ok.

Possibly late runners trying to board (safer to get them on than risk dragging one under), or possible a bodyside hazard light remained lit due a door obstructed or not closed properly/sticking door. Unsure about Merseyrails policy on this but where I work we are told to attempt to open/reclose 3 times - if the light still remains lit go and investigate/fault find.

I did observe the other day that the doors on 029 were intermittently misbehaving and sometimes required more than one go so it's probably just that.

003 was fine tonight, its typical post-overhaul lacking pace notwithstanding. It ran rather well in fact, although I much prefer 018.

The 2 777s underwent a full reset at Southport ahead of the 7:48 departure. As that is my train to work, they do seem to be working as normal now, so could potentially be split later as you mentioned. Fingers crossed not though.
If it's still the same units on this diagram then it looks like it's had another fault and been taken out for the rest of the night

003 and 029 did the usual diagram again this morning

507018 moved from New Brighton to North depot earlier as 5T81 to await its fate, but not before it served one last role: pulling 507023 out of the shed. 023 is now at New Brighton in 018's stead as the Wirral Line spare.

507023 is on its way to Southport just now from New Brighton as 5T80, presumably to replace one of the 507s on the six-car diagram.

It has gone onto Kirkdale depot at the moment due to the severe disruption on the Southport line. Ormskirk line also severely disrupted as well.

Services have started to resume in last hour. 507 023 has been route proving this morning and has gone back to Kirkdale Depot now

Not seen any 507s in service though

After an eventful morning route proving on the Northern Line, 507023 has been pressed into service on the Chester line. It is to start with the 14.37 from Birkenhead Central to Chester.

507029 is also out on the Southport line running singly, I've been advised. The 13.47 Liverpool Central - Southport was the service mentioned.

Likely 507029 will form the final service to Ormskirk this evening after finishing on the Southport line. Could be the last time a 507 runs on the Ormskirk line, although we have said that before :)

Morning,

507003 is starting with 2G02 0603 Southport to Liverpool C.

507023 is on the Ellesmere Port line, starting with 2Y05 0739.

Just those two showing at the moment.

Anyone know how many 777s are stabled up at Southport? Just wondering how likely it is for a 507 to run the 1603 again
There was definitely 1 there this morning which I believe came in ECS and moved to the sidings at 7:40ish. Not sure if it’s still there now

We have indeed and we're saying it again! 507029 is on the Ormskirk - Hunts Cross line and it currently forms 14.36 Hunts Cross - Ormskirk service.

It's a smorgasbord of 507s today too with 507003 on the usual Southport diagram this morning and 507023 on the Ellesmere Port line (next to form the 15.19 circuit). Absolutely superb.

It really is lovely to see as they enter potentially their last week of regular service. They really do make the region proud

507003 is on the 1603 departure from Southport

The issue with 029s doors seems to be persisting today, guard had to close them 3 or 4 times at Sandhills

I did Central to Southport and return on it last night and gave no issues at all except for no heating in the Liverpool end coach
