Hi All,

I hope this is in the right section, I'm after a bit of info around Merseytravel 507/508's for a forthcoming bash.

I am led to belive that the service on the Northern City Line and the Wirral lines are strengthened during the peak hours.
If so which stabling points are used to store stock during the peaks or do they all return to depopt at Birkenhead?

I think I remember going to Southport years ago and seeing a number of units parked up, but it could also have been a weekend.

Thanks

Just a pointer: The Northern City line is in North London, running from Finsbury Park to Moorgate. The line you refer to is simply called the Northern Line.
There's a TMD at Kirkdale on the Northern Line, which is visible just south of Bank Hall on the Southport branch, or just south of Kirkdale station on the Kirkby/Ormskirk branches.

The depots are at:
Kirkdale (can be seen on train between sandhills and kirkdale)
Birkenhead north (can be seen on train between Birkenhead north and bidston/wallasey village)

Units are often stabled throughout the day at Southport in the station and just outside of the station. (Northern line)

Sometimes a unit will be stabled at Birkenhead central also. (Wirral line)

I would recommend you getting an all zones saveaway ticket for £4.90 as you can then travel on all lines throughout the day after 09:31 (weekdays only).

Services strengthened often are the northern line Southport-Hunts cross workings and the Ormskirk to Liverpool workings (to 6 cars ).
