Hi did you attend the interviews last week? Did you get a letter or phone call? Sorry it doesn't answer your question

I can't see that happening to be honest. You should be allowed to take the interviews again. If you fail the guard assessments then there's a problem but you've passed them. I don't know for sure.

Took mine last monday, not heard anything either, keep us posted. Was my first attempt. If I pass got to do assessments

I was there last Monday, got a call on Sunday saying I had passed that stage. Picked learning material up today from Rail House for tests this coming Monday

May be worth giving them a call, good luck guys hopefully see you next Monday

I'd say to anyone, from experience working with ex-Merseyrail candidates that failed there, but went to another company, I would simply disregard the 'second time fail' rule and continue to apply to other companies regardless.

Here's why. Merseyrail admitted they told a candidate who'd passed the assessments that he'd failed them. They initially ignored his data protection request, then backed down later admitting yes, he'd passed, but other (internal) candidates had higher scores.

....one phone call later, and on checking the RACF database, Merseyrail HR hadn't even entered the candidate data for the assessment, so it does make me wonder whether proper (mandatory) procedures were being followed there.... if not, then it does question whether either of those two fails could be counted as a proper guard assessment.

It's also worth mentioning that some TOCs will now allow you to sit the guards assessments more than twice (even if you fail), SWT being on of them.

Agree. All of them should refuse after a second assessment, however it looks like Merseyrail weren't recording some of the assessments, and giving false results which would constitute a pass at other operators.<D

hi im getting a bit confused here with some of the replies as i have stated i did the aptitu de test and passed all that then was asked to got to another interview which i failed i re-applied when the vacancies where advertised on the merseyrail website and was asked to attend the second interview stage which i did last wednesday ive heard nothing from them since yet i was told that if i failed again i could not re apply for the guards vacancies again should any come up? think that if this is true i find very unfair to all those that are trying to get jobs can some one please enlighten me on this thanks

Wait until they reply first. You never know - you may have got through, the wait time is usually while references etc are being checked.

If you aren't successful, politely ask for feedback first. If they give you some vague answer about 'failing the interview' that offers no real indication of whether you passed or failed the assessments, you could ask for a subject access request for your results.

If, in the unlikely event they refuse, you should then contact the information commissioner's office who can ask on your behalf.

Quite annoying, that most people seem to fall down on the Merseyrail interview, which unlike the rest of the day, is scored by one person's opinion.

I was advised today that I passed the assessments but due to limited places ive been placed in a talent pool. Ive seen quite a lot on here about Northerns pool but cant find anything on Merseyrail.

Has anyone got any idea if at next recruitment ill have to re interview? What are the chances they will eventually offer me a job? Any information’s greatly appreciated

Looks like it’s a waiting game now for me

Well I reckon you may well be waiting a few months. Some of the guards that I know have applied for jobs with northern, tpe, atw and virgin.

Keep us updated!
