Merseyrail day saver

Hi

I will be completing the merseyrail network tomorrow and I have a few queries.

I understand that you can get them from the TVM at Capenhurst but I had look and the only option that was not a destination was something like "Northwirrallines". Is this the ticket I buy?

With this ticket do I get unlimited travel for a day on the merseyrail network and is it valid on the red city line or just the blue northern line and green wirral line?

You do indeed purchase it as you mentioned.

The £4.60 day saver is valid on the Northern and Wirral lines only - ie: any Merseyrail train.
If you buy a £4.70 Saveaway, it's valid on the City line within Merseyside, as well as buses and ferries. You can't buy Saveaway's from a TVM and if you're boarding at Capenhurst, your only option is to buy it in advance.

The Northwirrallines ticket is the one you need. It is valid on Merseyrail services only (blue and green lines). If you want to travel on the other lines you need a Saveaway.

Which is valid on buses and ferries as well and is only 10p more expensive.

Capenhurst is my local station!

Thanks for your reply's. I might go to Chester to buy a saveaway instead, I can get a ferry trip in then!

Antonic, maniacmartin, the challenge is on the 29th, tomorrow I will just be doing the trip for leisure purposes. I was going to be on the challenge until I found out it was on the day I return to school

I tried to use a Saveaway on the Mersey ferry once.

Apparently you are only allowed to go one stop at a time, then you have to get off and get another boarding pass.

They don't let you do a full trip.

That doesn't seem to be enforced.

The boarding pass is checked on boarding but not when getting off

Interesting as I've done Mersey Ferries quite a few times in the past with a Saveaway ticket and managed no problem to do the full round trip during the day, infact I'm sure its advertised that you can do the full round trip in the leaflet for the ferries, I would have thought the only services that you would have to get seperate boarding cards for would be the coummuter trips in the rush hour during the week but with me not being from Merseyside I'm not to sure

When i've used the Ferries the Staff were at the exits checking tickets when leaving the Ferry.

Best way to do it is either Seacombe to Liverpool or get the Ferry from Woodside to Seacombe, bus routes 409 & 411 go from Hamilton Square to Seacombe.
