Hello in urgent need of some assistance here.

I am going to be travelling tomorrow three times during peak hours and then three times out of peak hours and I’m not sure what ticket I can get.

I was hoping I’d be able to get an on peak equivalent of a day saver for something like £15 but the only other option is three singles and then a day saver and it really adds up. I usually purchase weekly tickets but this week since I won’t be travelling for 4/7 days I didn’t see a purpose in purchasing a week ticket for £40 any assistance would be greatly appreciated thank you!

I don't think there's anything which works like a 1 day version of a season ticket, but you may be able to find a single or return ticket which covers more than one of your journeys.

Just to be clear, you could (say) buy a Chester-Liverpool single, take the train from Chester to Hooton, and later on travel from Spital to Liverpool on the same ticket. You don't have to use the bit in between, but you do need to use the bits you do use in the correct order.

The Saveaway or Daysaver (MerseyRail only) will do the off-peak. If the peak journeys could be construed as one journey with breaks then one single would do it. By this I mean e.g. Southport to Formby, Formby to Liverpool, Liverpool to Chester. A single from Southport to Chester will do it. There are still such things as Anytime returns. Bear in mind that peak time finishes at 9.30am. If you buy online and get a ToD code you must collect the tickets at a ticket office before getting on a train. MerseyRail ticket offices are all staffed, you might find the staff member helpful.

What are the exact journeys being made, and at what times? That might help us find a suitable ticket or tickets.

Sorry for the late responses. The journey I took was 0729 rock ferry to Liverpool James street 0812 James street to Birkenhead park and then 14?? Birkenhead north to Hamilton square then change to Ellesmere Port train to rock ferry. I ended up purchasing a single to Liverpool from rock ferry then Liverpool to Birkenhead park and then a day saver for my way home eventually using it later on to go rock ferry to Chester. Any ideas on making this fare cheaper and more efficient will be taken as this journey will occur again and multiple times throughout the year.

Wouldn’t changing at Hamilton Square be cheaper - unless you have a reason to actually go to James Street ?(whatever it is can’t take long to judge by those timings!)

An anytime day return Rock Ferry to Birkenhead Park costs £4. Some railcards (e.g. Disabled and Senior) would be valid and reduce that fare. Change of trains at Hamilton Square is quicker. Dep Rock ferry 0729. Arrive Hamilton Square 0736. Dep Hamilton Square 0745. Arrive Birkenhead Park 0749.
However as you plan to return from Birkenhead North, you should buy the anytime day return Rock Ferry to Birkenhead North for £4.20 and finish short at Birkenhead Park.
On days when you know that you will need to go to Chester and back later, then buy the single in the morning from Rock Ferry to Birkenhead Park for £3.80 then buy the Daysaver for the return to Rock Ferry and to Chester and back. Saves you 40p. Again calculations are different for railcards.
