Looks like there's another unit drag tonight.

There is a track machine (DR73909) going to Speke Jn later too, so maybe something to do with that..You may well be right, but 6J11 is a Colas service shown on Rail Record as 'Colas Track Machines'

Is there any sign when training may start on the 777 units for staff?
They seem to be making good progress with the fault-free running and getting the units ticked off and accepted-I presume each unit is being accepted by Merseytravel once the fault-free running is completed?
I wasn't right... I did get to test my new lenses at night, so...![]()
777002 is the unit being moved back to KirkdaleNo getting overly excited but ..... there are some schedules currently showing for tomorrow
1706 0Z20 Tyseley Steam Trust to Crewe Down Refuge Siding, 2055 6Z20 to Kirkdale CS then Tuesday 0518 5Q20 to Crewe CS
All are showing as SLC Ops operated so presumably it's 20007 & 20205, DCR 56091 doesn't seem to have moved from Crewe DR Sdg since the recent wagon mishap so the situation with it and the barrier wagons is a mystery to me
**** Updated Tuesday 21st ****
Reported on another thread, thanks @FrodshamJnct , that 777006 & 014 were the units moved from Kirkdale to Crewe this morning on 0518 5Q20, the service was operated by SLC Ops using 20007/142/189/205 TnT with three of the RailAdventure barriers
There is currently another schedule in place for a 2218 5Q20 Crewe Down Refuge Sdg to Kirkdale CS tonight, so presumably unit(s) returning home
Many thanks 8A RailUpdated list below as of late Tuesday, 21st December.
No 777006 and 014 went to Crewe CS Tuesday morning and 777002 returned to Kirkdale.

Crewe C.S. = 005, 006, 007, 008, 009, 012 and 014.
None at WOJn MSC Sidings.
My thanks to td47, Clagmaster and Timbom for info / confirmation.
I guess it's so it can reverse at Sandhills to get into KirkdaleGreat photos! Do they really need four 20s to move one 777, though? They do look very clean and shiny.

2 reversals in quick succession. First at Bootle Oriel Road then another at SandhillsI guess it's so it can reverse at Sandhills to get into Kirkdale![]()
Of course not but good fun for the 20 drivers out on the main line with 60 year old diesels that are still working not new trains that aren'tGreat photos! Do they really need four 20s to move one 777, though? They do look very clean and shiny.
Plus probably also brake force vehicles.2 reversals in quick succession. First at Bootle Oriel Road then another at Sandhills
Oh was that where it went? 777018 reached Southport this morning.New year and a 777 has just come through port sunlight . Will track its return .
Back and fourth 3 times now. Those rear led really stand out.
Class 20s are a bit like Ant and Dec. Not allowed to be seen on their own in public. Can’t run on their own because of poor visibility past the “bonnet”. So that makes 2, and then 4 are needed if top and tailed for reversals, as already mentioned.Great photos! Do they really need four 20s to move one 777, though? They do look very clean and shiny.
Why cant they split a pair to top and tail a train with cabs outward?Class 20s are a bit like Ant and Dec. Not allowed to be seen on their own in public. Beats me…Why cant they split a pair to top and tail a train with cabs outward?

How much power do they need - and is there any communication from the front pair to the rear ones? Because if the power of 2 class 20s is needed to move the train, then you need two running at once. But if there's no way of operating the rear locomotive(s) in multiple with the front one(s) then you can't use the power from the back.Beats me…
