Now to look forward to the left-over turkey later. :|

Can anyone who gets such a huge over-sized piece of meat for Christmas give an explanation as to why they do it? Why not buy a smaller one, or is that too obvious! Or do people actually like eating the remains for the next four days?

A belated Merry Christmas to all.

My year has been traumatic but I never knew it would end this way.
With great sadness I had to have my dog of 15 years put to sleep last week, 2 hours after I got a call from my brother to say my mum won't last through the Christmas holidays.
I have said my goodbyes as I took my family up to see her but Christmas took on a new meaning this year.
Commercialism is rife but when you face loosing your last surviving parent you look at life differently and your memories are treasured. For me that's the true meaning of Christmas, not presents or how much you have spent but family (even if you don't speak for years)
A day after hearing about my mum a good friend told me they had just found out they had cancer so it does come in three's.
My mum has just passed away.

I hope 2013 will be less devastating for me and I wish you an early Happy New Year
