Hi all,

Firstly, Happy Christmas to everyone from BRT!

You may have noticed I’ve not been around much lately – there are good reasons for that, but I won’t bother explaining! Things haven’t gone to plan as much recently with regards to BVE, which is my fault – this has meant a few things have been put to one side and other things have been delayed….which is disappointing. :(

However, have you ever know BRT not to release something at Christmas? This year is extra special…you’ve not got one thing…you’ve got five! :D

With massive amounts of effort from myself, but more importantly Steve Thomas and Martin Corbett, we are pleased to be able to release the Class 57/3(s) for download this year! There are a couple of small animation errors in the trains, however, these will be rectified in an update in the New Year – we wanted to release them in time for Christmas and didn’t have time to sort them...still, they’re not noticeable unless you purposely look for them! ;)

Head over to BRT for the files - www.bveroutes-trains.co.uk/trains/mainline.html
I do believe that NWM 12.08 will feature a few 57/3 diagrams, so you won’t be short of places to run these new additions to the fleet.

The Class 57/0, 57/6 and 58 will be released in the first month or so of the New Year, so it’s all looking good for BRT!

Have fun, and Merry Christmas! :)

Superb Rich! Downloading them now.

Sorry to hear things haven't been going your way, but have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and thanks for your hard work in doing these 57's.

I miss my 390 drags here, thank god the WAG Express is around!

Brilliant!

Just driven 57302 with the MK3's on the SuO 0940 Maybank-Wellingham, and to think its diagrammed for a HST, the slack in the TT meant that I got into Wellingham 2 mins early.

Fantastic mate!

Not bad at all! :)

Love the bass roar of the EMD engine in my subwoofer, and the Pendo drag was a lot of fun (took it up Harcroft -- my usual test route)! I didn't notice any nagging animation errors, but even if I did, it would ruin Christmas to mention them! ;)

I look forward to the other 3 57s in '09! Merry Christmas!

Very good - 10/10. Just one niggle though, the lights! Shouldn't the bottom two segments be lit up for the heads (the 1' that stay blank on these) the right/left of the pair for Tails and the other one for Markers if that makes sense? So if you had the night head on
Marker Tail Tail Marker
Head (night) Head (day)

I may well be wrong though....

I have that when running the 60 on OpenBVE.

On that note, has anyone tried the 57 with OpenBVE?

The blue number value (i.e. white = 00000 or it might be black cant remember) is different to what it is stated in the config, the best thing to do is bring this up in something like photoshop, Gimp or whatever and paint it to the normal blue colour.

Hope this makes sense, if not I will look into it and try and explain it in some more detail

It's not been tested in OpenBVE, however it does use the latest Dt.dll from Simon, which makes it compatible operation wise. The graphics, however, have not been adpated for OpenBVE.

We are hoping to update one or two of the versions in the New Year which will be fully compatible with OpenBVE. ;)

Well I can say that the 57 works in OpenBVE. Just the sound is a bit odd but that's down to the game and not the body snatcher. Good work guys at BRT.

Very nice to drive, I also like the fact that you can apply full power from a standing start on the logs and go like sh*t off a shovel :D
