Megatrain website trouble

Is anyone else having trouble using the new Megatrain website? Trying to book journeys on there and it comes up with an error page......

I have got to the stage where it asks for a credit card number; what stage is it crashing for you at?

One thing I do find annoying about the new Megatrain website is that there is no longer a map of all Megatrain routes so you have to spend ages waiting for the form to load or guess if it's available.

Me too. Choose the destination station and then it goes Oops.

There are various reasons why the website may "crash"
Therefore post an example of entries that causes an error

This example returns the error :
Unable to cast object of type 'System.FormatException' to type 'System.Web.Services.Protocols.SoapHeaderException'

However, searching for Preston to Glasgow by train, works fine

I found it to be incredibly slow (compared to before) so I gave up with it the first time. The 2nd time it was a bit faster but still tedious

So how do we "fix it"? Do we have to email megatrain themselves?

I guess so! I've never used it, except to search for cheap fares for other people!

I've done all types of searches now
The only error I could create was by using the route links (at the bottom of the home page)

That's a major improvement to the website.

Really like the way that only dates where Megatrain fares are available are "clickable".

£1 Fare betweeen Glasgow & Brum is very welcome in August.

Just have to try and get a discounted ticket for the rip North now...

If you don't find any you can always rely on XC's cheap offers

I'm guessing they've changed the website due to all the people complaining about all the out of date coach timetables on there (they bore little to no relation to when they actually ran). I suppose removing all timetables and maps removes the need to update them...

Or it could have something to do with Stagecoach refreshing their websites in the last 18months, including Stagecoach Group, Stagecoach Bus, SWT, Megabus USA & Canada....

It could. They do seem to have a pathological need at megabus to hide the details of where they go.

There's obvious way to find out where they go other than by looking up each combination. As someone who can easily travel from Halifax, Bradford or Leeds it'd be good to be able to look up where the routes go through each place. And unlike NX they don't offer tickets on through journeys (except for certain specified connections) so there could be a simple similar journey to the one you search for without knowing.

I find using concessions and NUS holders causes it to crash more often than not! Its a temperamental site, but bears good fruit at the end of the day!

Seems to work fine if you use www.megatrain.com rather than megabus.com for some reason......
