I'm due to have a medical at some point in the coming months but waiting for an email to confirm when it will be, but with everything that is going off has anybody had one recently?

I've been given a start date of August due to the holidays I had booked, but it's dependent on me passing the medical (which to my knowledge I have no problems so shouldn't be a problem) I've emailed WMT to find out what's happening but they say they don't know what will happen at the minute. I just wanted to find out if people are still starting and having medicals?

I'm waiting for mine for a different operator. The last I'd heard was that the company they use to do the medicals had some staff furloughed, whilst the rest were doing work for the NHS.

Hopefully won't have to wait too much longer, it's so close. I hate the job I'm currently doing so time just seems to be going so slow, having a new job to look forward to was the light at the end of the tunnel.

Me too mate, had my dmi cancelled which was on the friday after the lockdown.

I’m in the same position. Offered the role of guard just before the lockdown pending medical and background checks. I’m also awaiting an MMI date for a trainee train driver position with the same TOC, having passed the remaining psychometric tests and DMI. I’m really hoping they’ll still be taking people on and continuing with the positions, once this eases up.

Hi I'm also starting in August for wmt based in crewe, I've already had a telephone medical because of the virus and told I was clear for 6 months, ive now been invited to another medical in Harrow. Has anybody else had a telephone medical? Seems like a long way to travel for a medical ? Cheers

I am currently training as a senior conductor for WMT. I had a telephone medical before I started the training. I went to Harrow yesterday to do the proper medical as this needs to be done before you can do the practical part of the PTS training. I will be based at Coventry.

I did wonder about that. I suppose in these uncertain times it was the only option they had.

Not yet - I was told by the recruitment advisor a couple of weeks ago that the medical provider is still closed (Manchester).

I’ve recently had mine and was advised that they had only just reopened and to my knowledge there is only one centre open.

New to here, I was successful with my application as a conductor for Northern in March, my medical was supposed to be end of March, but with the current situation it was cancelled.

Since then I've heard nothing in relation to the medical and job starting, does anyone know if Northern have started medicals again?

Hi Everyone

I was successful in the TP department Team leader Role - I received an email saying the medical centre was shut at the moment in Leeds.

They are looking at other options

BTW what does the medical consist of

I called HR today and they said they have restarted medical but in small numbers like 2 people at a time. I still got abit of a wait because there are quite a few numbers before me. But they did also mention it can be anytime because some people maybe worried about going in to do medical so they might be changes to dates. I applied for CSA 2 position and got my conditional offer in new years eve.

Do you know how many people were before you? I got conditional offer for CSA2 on New Years Eve too.
