There was a thread on here titled "medical", however it seems to have vanished.

Anyway, I had my medical today for a non-safety-crit role at FGW in Swindon. Thankfully I passed that as well as completing a urine test for drugs etc.

My question is, how long does it take for the drugs to come back? It's the last formal hurdle before I get my start date so I'm more than a little eager for it to be completed!

Mine took a week from test to 'phone call saying it was ok.

Probably depends on workload at the laboratory - I think I was advised it could take up to two weeks.

just had mine last week it takes 4-5 working days at least it did with SWT thanks and goodluck.

Only a couple of days. If you haven't heard anything to the contrary by the end of the week you can assume all is well. I have never known a false positive although they can happen, as long as you were honest before you took the test with what you have taken/eaten etc (and assuming you are genuinely clear!) then don't worry about it and look forward to your new career.

Thank you for your replies, have now been advised I should hear back tomorrow.

Not worried about the result but just want to get on with things!
