Medical - just eyesight?

Hi all,

I had a pneumothorax (collapsed lung) 8 years ago but had surgery to correct it and have been absolutely fine since. It's impossible for it to happen again due to the surgery I had. I'm wondering if anyone would know if that would scupper my chances of becoming a driver as it's not a medical condition but I believe they ask if you've had any issues with your respiratory system..

I declared a similar condition (chest issue) that required extensive surgery on my chest. Deflated lungs during surgery and lots of respiratory issues followed.

Not an issue when I had my medical. This was many years ago.

Declare it at the medical and you should be fine.

Declare it but it won't be a problem at all I know drivers with a lot worse and they got the job.

Thanks comUtoR and BTU that's put my mind at rest! Didn't want to keep putting myself through the process only to be told I wasn't medically fit!
