There has been much talk in the messroom about new EU standards for medicals, particularly regarding eyesight, now being introduced with the aim of being fully implemented by 2018. The theme being that regardless of how long you have been driving and passing the eyesight requirements at your medicals if you cannot reach these new requirements then "you are out!" Can anyone shed any light on this or is it particular to my messroom?

Not heard of that one, but eyesight can be corrected easily with glasses anyway, and I would have thought that anything otherwise would contravene a disability at work law of some sort.....just my opinion
