I know the title could appear a little strange at first, but just following on from the formatting of the "Me, Yorkie, Jordy and Nick W" thread
Aaaanyway, today my Mum was jetting off to sunny Ayrshire to pay her cousin a visit following their move of farm from Kent (away till Sunday.... hmmmm
). Anyway, she decided to betray the rail network for an evening Ryanair flight (FR419 IIRC) to Glasgow Prestwick, and what with the Stansted Express covering two new bits of track (Tott Hale and the airport branch) I decided to tag along. Upon arrival at the airport on 1B02 (I've jumped a massive bit of this uneventful story already!) we were greeted by a nice smilie driver who claims to be known as 'oneTN' (Numpty for shor.... long
). We bid him farewell before our search for food, with him then taking the units out as 1B03.
Anyway, our search for dinner was quite poor thanks to the "amazing" selection of places at Stansted. We therefore had to settle (well, were forced to really) for an Italian (pizza's Italian, innit?
) and talked about random things. My Mum also showed me some really dodgy text messages that I would probably get banned for posting here. I am now mentally disturbed after reading them - and even more shocked she received them in the first place, let alone showing them to an innocent little boy such as myself
Errrm, yeah, so after all this excitement my Mum decided to have another fag which involved going through some revolving doors. I sneaked into the section infront of my Mum thinking I was being clever. The doors had other ideas, though, and felt my actions were dangerous. The whole thing therefore decided to grind to a halt for about five seconds before resuming it's rotation..... at a very much reduced speed
Anyway, once she'd finished her cancer stick (yes, I realise this is getting very booooring now) We headed back through the revolving doors (which we may have pushed a little bit) and I bid her farewell. Down to the station I headed to catch 1B17 back to Liverpool Street, where I had a look to see if anything interesting was in (it wasn't) and to top my 16-17 half-rate Oyster card up.
Anyway, Numpty soon rolled in at the head of 2O11 from Hertford East, which arrvied -2 but was 1 down at (the appropiately named) Brimsdown, and after finding his way through the ticket barrier we chatted about stuff opposite the Great Eastern platforms, before Numpty went off to work 1B38 as far as Bishops Stortford after a very lazy day at work (I'm probably pushing my luck now
).
So yeah - Saturday (your Wednesday) finally came around for me and what did I do - commuted to London then got on a bus over most of the route my bus to works goes on. I'm either sad or mad. Can't be both - can I?
Bye for now!
Edit: Oh yes, I nearly forgot! The route 26 bus from Liv St to Waterloo had a faulty Oyster scanner which meant a free ride. Thanks 'East London' for saving me about 45p
