The mayors of Greater Manchester and the West Midlands have unveiled three options to improve rail connections between the two regions following the scrapping of the planned HS2 link.

Anyone got a good idea where the proposed diversions would be built and how much track that corresponds to? The HS2 phase 2a strategic alternatives document mainly had diversions at the southern part, but here they mention between Crewe and Stockport.
