hi all.
Planning a visit to Hungary soon and I’m looking for a bit of diesel haulage.
Can anybody post the M - F diagrams for the 418s so I can plan a few moves around the Debrecen side of the country.

418s do the Debrecen -Romania runs on Line 105, changing to a CFR 60 at Valea lui Mihai.
Most of the Line 110 Debrecen to Mateszalka/Feheregyarmat services are 418, as are most of the services across the Hortobagy national park on Line 108 via Tiszafured to Fuzesabony. Note that the diagram that includes the 10.45 departure from Debrecen is usually a BZmot railcar and trailers.
ANote that a short section at the Debrecen end has recently been bustituted- to free up the line for freight trains! Buses were departing 10 minutes before the scheduled time, not sure if this is still ongoing though.

Loads of electric hauled stuff on the mainline.

PS this may come in handy for you- location of every MAV train in Hungary, complete with loco/unit fleetnumber :)

PPS if you are staying in Debrecen, Calico Jack Pub (tramstop Bem Ter) does excellent Hungarian food at a good price- expect to leave with a full tummy! Csokonia Etterem is very good too, but a bit pricier and slightly more formal. HTH

Thanks for your information beermaddave, it will be very valuable to me, also the nosebag gen.
I now have the mapper, this will provide valuable information when I’m there.

Just looking at the MAV timetable the are a few services the show as reservation required, as I have a BR FIP coupon to use there as a ticket do I need to purchase a reservation when bashing services?

Yes if they're reservation compulsory, you can normally do this at the ticket office beforehand.
