Marshlink 9 week block closure

There is to be a 9 week block closure of the Ashford International to Hastings line in January for Ore tunnel work as well as points/signalling refresh.

This will mean the following stations will become redundant, having no other services:

Ham Street (HMT)
Appledore (Kent) (APD)
Rye (RYE)
Winchelsea (WSE)
Doleham (DLH)
Three Oaks (TOK)

A shuttle bus will be running though between Ashford International and Hastings station for onward travel to Brighton stations.

Why can't a shuttle run between Rye and Ashford. Park the units at Rye overnight and refuel from a tanker. Close the toilets on the train as it is a short journey. Is this a cost saving measure as it is cheaper to hire buses than pay track charges?
