Finally had a day where it was on the verge of being hot! Using a simple day return and hopping off when I felt like it, manages a walk and some drinking in those two villages in Yorkshire. From the bridge @ Marsden, didn't know it was formally four tracks, now three; can't tell as you're zooming past when not stopping, and also it's quite a steep climb up to Slaithwaite station, not good for those of us with dodgy knees! One good reason for walking alongside a canal is it's flat!!
Highlight of the day is the marvellous little chippy in Slaithwaite, a £3.50 "chip butty" consisted of a barm cake (large roll if you're southern!) topped with well over 50 chips.
