Hi, so do you love it or hate it, i love it so much i have it on sandwiches, cracker, toast, buiscits.

Yes I love it on toast, bread, crackers, the odd sandwich, sometimes combined with cheese-yum. (I tried the Aussie vegimite when I was down under years ago, that was not nice.) Hot oxo gravy is good too.

Whenever I go overseas, I tend to suffer from Marmite withdrawal, as they never seem to have it. However, I was staying at a foreign hotel last year, and they were selling a new type of Marmite. This one was fish flavored. It smelt absolutely awful, even to an addict like myself.

Did I try some? You'd better believe I did. ;)

On hot, buttered toast and in strict moderation, not covering the whole thing. I've often used it to draw patterns, the BR Nex being an obvious one. This does make a small jar last over a year, though. The people next door like to smother their toast in it as if it was strawberry jam, which I can never understand.

When I was younger, (todler), I used to bite my nails like most kids do. My mum decided that she would put drops of marmite on my fingers so I wouldn't bite them.... it worked :)

I can't stand it when people bite their nails....your mothers idea deserves a national call up! :)

We need some more haters here, currently 21-17 to the lovers! ;)

It has now grown to 27 - 22 still in their favour , which I feel is remarkable considering that the majority of people on other forums where this has come up for discussion, have voted 3 to 2 in the "hate" favour.

Perhaps there are those with more educated taste-buds existing on this forum.

I elicited a somewhat horrified response from kernofem on another thread when I made the suggestion of a jacket potato with a cheese and MARMITE filling.

Now 29-22 in favour, partly thanks to my vote. Thought that I had to make up my mind eventually. However I would only have it on toast.

They tried something similar on me, using some kind of nail varnish to do the same. It didn't work, I would bite my nails if they had smeared Hydrogen cyanide on them, even if I knew about it. It's a hard habit to break.

On the bright side at least hydrogen cyanide is slightly less toxic than marmite

For me marmite is something to have when you're ill. I wouldn't have it other times because it would make my mind think I was ill, but if I actually am then yes I will have it. So I'm neither.

Me mam used to make lettuce(crisp leaf) and marmite butties and the tomato left whole on the side, got some funny looks, but it is quite refeshing!

Her other habit was to add a bit to cheese on toast - either that or lea&perrins.

needless to say - I do the same.......;)

Another vote for indifference. I don't dislike it, and I might use it as a spread when some is available, but I wouldn't be bothered as a rule to go out and buy any of my own free will

You should make a posting of all the things you hate more than Marmite on the "Things I hate" thread that is currently running on this forum.
I might do that ;)

I like your signature by the way. I managed to work out half of it in my head but then looked up the rest in my latin dictionary :)
