If you count ECML as going to Aberdeen, there’s Bow of Fife near Ladybank as well.

£12.5m bridge to replace level crossing opens to traffic

A BRIDGE to replace one of Scotland’s “highest-risk public road level crossings” is now open to traffic.

Concerns were raised about the level crossing at Markle, near East Linton, for many years, with at least two people killed there in the last 20 years.

Work to close the crossing and instead create a bridge began on the site in March last year.

Now, vehicles can use the bridge and a diversionary road to avoid the crossing.

The bridge replacing the LC has now opened. The link includes a drone picture.

24/7. I was in the area, so found my way to Markle to use the new bridge. I'm sure it's down to National Highway standards, but what were previously country lanes - I had to use the verge to squeeze past a truck - are now joined by road almost of main road width. Even access to a farm track has been tarred. No wonder things cost so much.

Still a team of guys 'gardening' the embankments.
