I'd perhaps also like to remind you that Fred Goodwin also comes from a working class background, and was the first member of his family to go to University and worked his way up from nothing, and until 2008, led a very successful career. Rather than buffoons like Rooney (again, no offence intended to buffoons), he's the type of person that we should be looking up to. (At least until 2008 that is).

Some of you may remember the politician Cecil Parkinson (possibly for the wrong reasons) His father was a railway crossing keeper.
