Map showing speed limits

[jednick]

Is there a map available, or table, or a list, showing the line speed limits along various railway lines? I'm particulaly interested where exactly in the UK the line speed is 125mph.

Does anybody know of such a map available? Or just a list showing the speed limits across various railway lines?

Or, where precisely is the line speed 125 mph? I know much of the East Coast Mainline is, and much of the West Coast Mainline, and parts of the Great Western mainline, and portions of the Cross Country network such as between Wolverhampton and Stafford.

Thanks

You can find it in the Baseline Declaration, available at Network Rail's website:
http://www.networkrail.co.uk/browse...d route mileage, permissible line speeds&root

It's a few years out of date now but should give you a good(ish) indication.

Thanks, that's great

A depressing reminder of just how slow some key lines are :-/

Alternatively you can go to http://www.networkrail.co.uk/aspx/10563.aspx and download a much more up to date sectional appendix - last updates done on 1/12/12.

You can find some (albeit high-level) information the Network Rail's Route Plans:
