What is the difference in the reported " owners of the former 6.2 acre former Manchester London Road railway station" and the owners of the Manchester Piccadilly railway station?

I assume that the paper is confusing Mayfield, Piccadilly and London Road - and thinks Mayfield used to be called London Road.

Manchester's office market seems to be booming at the moment and is possibly more attractive than London - one of the London law firms is moving a lot of back office staff there to save on the rent.

Unless they've changed in the last few weeks, several of the new office blocks opposite Piccadilly (next to TfGM) have been empty since they were built.

The exact same thing was suggested before the last election...

Plans for a government "Whitehall" for north-west England are to go to public consultation. Plans have been drawn up for a civil service campus at the abandoned Mayfield railway station, close to Piccadilly, in Manchester city centre. In total, more than 5,000 civil servants could be based on the Mayfield site by 2014, the government said.

Actually, in fairness, I believe what is being proposed this time is different. Last time the proposal was to move civil service jobs from London. This idea was dropped in the spending review (cuts). I believe the proposal this time is to effectively move various civil service and public sector jobs that are currently based around the North West onto one site. The primary purpose being to save money on rent/maintenance etc.

That's my understanding anyway.
