Manchester's smallest flat?

IT’S described as a ‘cosy’ and a ‘modern studio apartment’ - however you put it this has got to be a front-runner for Manchester’s smallest flat.

The tiny studio has just enough room for a double bed - right next to a cooker, sink and fridge.

And it’s up for rent at £400 a month.

The studio, which also appears to have no windows, is located in property hotspot Chorlton.

But anyone taking on this flat might struggle to do more than lie down or make a cup of tea when they’re at home due to its tiny space.

It’s not even clear if it’s possible to fully open the fridge or cupboard because they are so close to the bed - but at least you wouldn’t have to reach far to get your breakfast.

I wonder if anyone is going to rent it and what reason they will choose to rent it? As the bed is still in plastic wrap it doesn't look like the same landlord has rented it out before.

Why would you put a double bed in such a small room? Would it not be better with a single bed?

i thought gas safety regs prohibit bedrooms having gas appliances in them

cant see why anyone would rent this at that price , in other parts of Manchester you can rent a studio that's bigger than this for £350-£375

Even in Chorlton the same money should get you many times as much bedroom space in a shared house.

As far as I can see it has an electric fridge, electric cooker and electric washing machine and a sink - no gas. I wonder if it has any type of heater or if you're just supposed to bake a pie if you get cold.

Quite right I am mistaken , being that ive always ever had gas cookers I saw the cooker and thought gas straight away .

According to VOA it's in Band A which for Manchester equals a council tax bill of £921.47 per year.

It was later ruled by the local authority as not fit to be rented and was taken of the market

If that's not fit to rent, then local authorities might want to be taking a closer look at some YMCA Long Term Hostels. Fair enough the rent isn't quite as expensive, but they're about the same size.

Pity, I liked the sound of a flat where there was no need to get out of bed in orde to make dinner.
