Hello there.

I am going to Manchetser in a couple weeks' time and will have a day spare and want to do some train travel. I will be based in the city centre; what kind of ranger tickets will allow me to have the best experiences of the day? I'd like to do some quite longish trips on local DMU services, possibly through rural areas. It will be a weekday but it doesn't matter how late in the evening I finish, provided it is back at Manchester.

A Cheshire Day Ranger (£18.00) valid from 08.45 provides unlimited travel on all operators throughout Cheshire, Southern Greater Manchester, much of Merseyside, parts of Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Shotton in North Wales.

Alternatively a Lancahire day ranger (also £18.00) covers Lancashire, Northern Greater Manchester, Hebden Bridge, Liverpool and Southport. Also valid from 08.45

A South Pennines day ranger (£14.00) covers Manchester Victoria, and parts of West and South Yorkshire valid from 08.45.
