Manchester visit

Hello all,
Taking a trip to manchester soon. Ive not been there for some time. In terms of depots and stabling points i remember newton heath, longsight, and ardwick. Is there anywhere else worth visiting? Also grateful for any tips on visibility from public places. Objective is maximising number of trains spotted.

I am not sure if this answers your question, but take the Metrolink south of the city past Deansgate, the view is quite spectacular with all the skyscrapers and it runs next to the Liverpool line so you get to spot plenty of trains too.
