I need to travel from Piccadilly to Wilmslow, then a few days later from the Airport to Piccadilly. If I get a Manchester Stns to Wilmslow return, can I start the return journey at the Airport?

Yes, that should be fine.

The only flexible tickets available for Manchester-Wilmslow are DAY return tickets, therefore your ticket wont be valid for the return journey a few days later. The routeing itself however, is valid.

I hadn't spotted that - thanks very much for pointing out.
