Hi, i'm looking for some ticketing advice although I'm probably pushing sand uphill on this one...
I travel from Manchester to Newcastle at least twice a month, leaving on a Friday after 6pm and returning Sunday evening. As National Express have decided to charge full price both ways the train offers a nominal increase and a more convenient opportunity to leave after 6 on the Sunday.
I've found that changing at York using Advance tickets has got the price down to on average £21 each way but is there any way to get this down further? I appreciate it's wishful thinking but i'm sure if anyone has the answer it's on here!
Would appreciate any ideas on how to get the cost down using alternative stations to change or if it's just a case of booking at the earliest possible time!
