Manchester to Cardiff Cathays

My daughter is going for an interview at Cardiff university on Mon 16th Jan.
She is travelling from Mananchester and has a 16-25 railcard.

Is Cathays staion part of "Cardiff All Stations"? or should she specify Cathays staion when booking. The fares seem to be the same.

Is the university (Medical School) within easy walking distance of the Central Station and/or Cathays station.

University buildings are situated in several locations so it would be wise to make a 'phone call beforehand.

I think, though, that the Medical School must be situated in the University Hospital of Wales which is just off one of the busiest junctions in Cardiff at the intersection of the A470/A48.
It is not a particularly short or pleasant walk from Cathays station so my suggestion would be a bus direct to the hospital (also known as "The Heath" or "Heath Park") from Cardiff Central. The bus station is at the exit of the rail station and there should be buses running directly into the hospital grounds, though this needs to be checked also..

The University is mainly centred around Cathays station.
The main question is though where is she being interviewed? The Medical School is based in two different areas.

If its in the Bio-Sciences building, thats in Cathays Park and she should go to Cathays station, and from there its a two minute walk.

Or, is it at the University Hospital in the Heath? If so she should go to Cardiff Central, then leave the train station, go to the bus station (Its right outside the train station) and catch a bus to the hospital. They are very frequent (around every 8 minutes) and run all day from early until around 11pm. She should buy a PlusBus ticket which costs £1.85 with her railcard. If she doesnt she'd have to buy a Cardiff 'Day to go' which costs £3.20.
