Hi guys, could you please work your magic on this one, on the 30th March I want to travel from Manchester to Bournemouth, and come back via Sandy, using any train and on a senior railcard, I don`t want to be restricted by an advance booking on certain trains and I`m no bothered what time I would travel, off peak of course. So far I`ve found an £81 ticket from Manchester to Bournemouth on the dates mentioned, but I don`t thing it allows a return via Sandy?

Any help appreciated.

How long do you intend stopping in Manchester and then Sandy?

Assuming the peak hours restrictions into and out of London are OK for you, £98.40 for a Super Off-Peak Return Huddersfield-Bournemouth Any Permitted (starting short in Manchester) will cover everything except the final leg from Huddersfield to Mañchester.
Sandy to Manchester via Leeds is possibly not the quickest route home but it's not too bad.

Travel via London is included but not compulsory.

An £83.15 Railcard Off-Peak Return Stalybridge - Bournemouth route Not via London is suitable for the outward leg of your journey, travelling from Manchester to Bournemouth via Oxford. It's not valid Mon-Fri 0430-0929.

A £101.20 Railcard Super Off-Peak Return Stalybridge - Bournemouth route + via Doncaster is suitable for almost the whole of the return leg of your journey, travelling from Bournemouth to Stalybridge via London, Sandy and Doncaster. The return leg is valid by any train from Bournemouth to London, on the tube from Waterloo to Kings Cross, and for departures from Kings Cross Mon-Fri 0906-1459 and then from 1900 Mon-Thu, from 1815 Fri.

To travel outward via Oxford and return via Sandy, you should buy the £83.15 ticket and excess the return leg of the journey only to the Super Off-Peak Return route + via Doncaster. This costs half the difference, that's £9.05, making a total of £92.20.

If you don't already have a pass or ticket valid for rail travel in Greater Manchester, you'll also need a £3.05 Railcard Anytime Day Single Stalybridge - Manchester CTLZ, and to catch a train which calls at Stalybridge.

This is not necessary.

Possible routings with tickets required

Manchester - Peterborough direct on EMT:
Bournemouth - Stalybridge ✠VIA MANCHESTER SVR
http://www.brfares.com/#faredetail?orig=BMH&dest=SYB&rlc=SRN&rte=312&ldn=1&tkt=SVR £83.95

Manchester - Doncaster via Sheffield, then Doncaster - Peterborough:
Bournemouth - Stalybridge ✠VIA MANCHESTER SVR

Manchester - Leeds calling at Stalybridge, then Leeds - Peterborough on a train that will call at Doncaster:

Bournemouth - Stalybridge ✠VIA DONCASTER SSR
http://www.brfares.com/#faredetail?orig=BMH&dest=SYB&rlc=SRN&rte=53&ldn=1&tkt=SSR £101.20
plus Manchester - Stalybridge ticket.

Hence:

Bournemouth - Stalybridge Not Via London
http://www.brfares.com/#faredetail?orig=BMH&dest=SYB&rlc=SRN&rte=700&tkt=SVR £83.15
vs. '✠Via Manchester'
http://www.brfares.com/#faredetail?orig=BMH&dest=SYB&rlc=SRN&rte=312&ldn=1&tkt=SVR £83.95
vs. ✠VIA DONCASTER
http://www.brfares.com/#faredetail?orig=BMH&dest=SYB&rlc=SRN&rte=53&ldn=1&tkt=SSR £101.20

It may be easiest to get the the '✠Via Manchester' @ £83.95 rather than to buy the Not Via London fare and pay the 40p excess.
