Hi,

I am new to this forum, but have read it quite a lot before posting?

Does anybody have splits to make the fare cheaper for an Off Peak Day Return (travelling on 13/09/2014) between Manchester & Birmingham (no railcard, too old)

Thanks in advance

Will you be using bus/train/tram at either end?

Reason being I would suggest splitting at least at Stafford...

Manchester to Rugeley off peak return is £21.50, is valid via Birmingham and you may stop short there outbound and start short on the return.

It is Rugeley to Stockport and Stoke that have been amended this time.

Does that mean the Manchester to Rugeley ticket is still valid? Is it valid via Crewe, I am off to the game (Leeds fan) and meeting some friends there

Are you sure? If I ask on East Coast for a return journey later today Manchester Piccadilly (MAN) to Rugeley Trent Valley (RGL) via Smethwick Galton Bridge (SGB), it offers the £21.50 Off-Peak return (Railcard £14.20) route Any Permitted with itinerary, for example
  • Outward: 1327 Manchester Pic - Birmingham New St 1458; 1512 Birmingham New St - Rugeley Trent Val 1607.
  • Return: 1745 Rugeley Trent Val - Birmingham New St 1836; 1857 Birmingham New St - Manchester Pic 2035.

See thread on new routeing guide changes (probably not yet updated by EC)
