On saturday im supposed to be meeting a friend at Manchester Airport (departing from Sheffield). Im going to get a open return. But im not very good with fares so can I get off at Manchester Piccadilly. Or should I get a ticket to Manchester Piccadilly and then getting a open return to Manchester Airport and buy all the tickets at Sheffield
Thanks
Richard

You'll want an off peak day return (there are no peak restrictions on a weekend so no need to worry about that) which is £18.80 to Manchester Airport.

Break of Journey is usuallyallowed on off-peak day returns, but may be restricted. This restriction is dependent on rules which are not publicly accessible! However someone else on here should probably be able to help you with that

The off-peak day return has restriction code B1 which allows break of journey on both outward and return legs.

The off-peak return allows return travel within a month and costs £24.10 Again, break of journey is permitted.

Sheffield - Manchester Airport Off Peak Return Carries Restriction Code 2M (specifically in that directon)
Off Peak Day Return is an I1

No mention of any restriction on Break Of Journey relating to those restriction codes that I can see.

The Man Picc to Man Air open return is on the system but DONT BUY IT. It is really expensive and simply charges twice the standard peak single. At certain times of the day the fare drops to well below £2 one way so best buy them seperate just before time of travel at the office.

The Sheffield to Man Picc return fare is also cheaper to buy seperately, than the fare right through to the airport at most times of day.
