Hi everyone I have finally joined after observing your forum for a week or two. Just got back into trains after about a decade away. Booked a trip on advance tickets from York to Manc Picc (typical the weather was freezing). Went to try and spot some 92s as never seen one before. After arriving about an hour late (something to do with the weather apparantly !) walking down the platform to see a double headed 92 heading south. Could not get the numbers in time but luckily a fellow spotter got them 92001/92034. Thank goodness ! Copped 57310 hauling a defective and ice encrusted 390051 south through platform 13. After noting losts of new units and 390s headed home on the 16.27 to York. Lo and behold just as the doors slammed shut peered across to platform 14 in the gloom to see another double headed 92 heading north GRRR !! Both grey versions and the first had a cast nameplate, I think ! I know a lot of you know your gen and me been a relative necomer back on the rail scene (at the ripe old age of 41) havent got a clue. Could someone make an old man happy and identify the elusive 2. Many thanks in advance !

Stafford is usually good for 92s, as most won't get as far as Basford Hall.

I wouldnt be suprised if it was the same two, as trafford park is only about 10 minutes away which will have been their destination, they would run round/change ends whatever, at the terminal, then straight back on the head of another Freightliner no doubt !
