Manchester Picc to Wembley Central

A colleague wishes to travel from Manchester Piccadilly to Wembley Central. Now the most logical way to do this would be to travel Manchester to Euston and double back to Wembley Central using the Watford DC service. Is there an easement for this considering you have to double back. Looking at BR fare the ✠ symbol applies so I'm guessing it does?
