Well everyone is always moaning about through capacity at manchester piccadily, and I'm always moaning about trains terminating at oxford road when I want to go to piccadilly. Why don't they build some northbound bay platforms for the VXC/TPE Glasgow Edingburgh Services, and the Holyhead/Bangor/Liverpool ones that loop round to the north? what would it need 2 platforms? and I dowbt it would be anything longer than 6 units... Since I've never seen one train not delayed on the through lines, why would this be a bad idea? they could even ro-open the old station next door and make some more through platforms for intercity services? have a look at the very badly drawn diagram and see what you think?
