Am I right in thinking a Manchester-Peterborough ticket is valid both via Leeds and Nottingham so I can head out one way and come back another?

Presumably you're asking about a route "Any Permitted" Anytime Return, or Off Peak Return, from Manchester Stns to/from Peterborough, rather than (say) a couple of Advance Singles?
