Hi All,

Suggestions please for cheap walk-up tickets (and splits as and where appropriate) for the following itinerary...

Manchester->Moreton-in-Marsh (via Birmingham, then via Worcester or Oxford).

Goring & Streatley->Manchester (not via London).

Outward travel to Moreton-in-Marsh on a Sunday, return from Goring & Streatley the following Saturday.

N.B. Adult standard ticket, no railcard.

A simple option would be the following:

Buy a £58.80 Manchester-Charlbury offpeak return as this ticket comes with itineraries showing that it is valid via Worcester or via Oxford (unlike a Manchester-Moreton return which seems to be valid only via Worcester). This would be valid for outward travel via Worcester stopping short at Moreton-in-Marsh (as the restriction code is 2V which has no restriction on break of journey).

On the way back, you would need a £7.10 offpeak day single from Goring & S to Oxford, and then you could use the return half of your Manchester-Charlbury ticket to get you from Oxford to Manchester.

If you wanted to travel outward via Oxford, then you would also need a £7.40 Charlbury-Moreton anytime day single.
