Manchester International Depot

So I have been informed that manchester international depot will be reopening to service the 323s could someone tell me whats exactly going on?

Its been open for a little while now, I think it was before Christmas when use began again. Its now known as "Manchester Bank Street LMD"

Am I right in saying the site was not used from 2013 to 2018?
Then caf used it for 397 testing?

That sounds about right, I think the only part continuously in use was the wheel Lathe next door. Used to be a few weekly trips from Newton Heath.

Odd that it’s still called Manchester International - and rather emphasises the failure to ever run the once promised international services to and from the provinces!

That explains why northern are recruiting for depot drivers at bank st. I thought it was a mistake.

Weren’t northern kicked off longsight a few years back? I doubt ardwick is big enough to handle the extra 323’s

Everything having to come from Wigan (Springs Branch) and Liverpool (Allerton), especially when things suddenly fall over at Lime St signaling wise was taking its toll. I dont think the sidings at Ardwick have proved the easiest to use either. Now at least they have some stock over here and easy to access.

I don't think Longsight have anything do with the native 323 fleet anymore as you say.

The depot now seems to be in regular timetabled use (location code XLI), and services 15 331/0 carriages per night (2x 6 car, 1x 3 car).

If I'm right in thinking that's the case untill the WMR 323s can be released by 730s.

323223-323239 were transferred from Longsight to Allerton a few years ago.
