Wigan has a good route card. Buxton hardly do anything. They rarely take trainees so people get jobs at Manchester depots then transfer across.

Recruitment will still go ahead as they need drivers. It’ll just be a lot slower as there is a massive backlog and the covid protocols are slowing things down even more. There’s trainees on the second tier of the pay scale now.

What are the pay scales for the west side now?

So after 8 months I received an email with the bad news saying that the role is no longer available and recruitment for it has been withdrawn. I would’ve liked to have had a crack at the tests but oh well I will be applying again immediately when another vacancy comes up. Good luck to all those that were successful.

Blackburn is only a little depot. They recently took some trainees on and some have transferred internally. Some may come up in the next few years as there’s quite a few looking to transfer/leave.

At northern you can put in for a transfer as soon as you pass out. Depending on where you want to go will depend on the wait time. Wigan and Buxton have a big waiting list on the west side. All the others you’ll get a transfer pretty quickly. The exception is Huddersfield, you have to be at Leeds to apply for it and the waiting time is about a decade.
