Hi,

I want to travel from manchester-croydon tomorrow and was planning on purchasing an open return with railcard discount (~£50). I also want to attend the anti-cuts march (nearest tube embankment).
The ticket obviously allows "any route permitted" but i'd be breaking my journey in central london for a few hours and obviously embankment is not on the way to croydon (normally victoria line euston to victoria, then southern to east croydon).
My question is how many tube journeys am I allowed to make on this ticket? If I need to buy another ticket what's the cheapest way of fitting a detour to embankment into my plans!

thanks

One cross-London transfer each way, and if you alight at Charing Cross, your ticket will definitely work the barriers, I assume it will do at Embankment too as that's a reasonable interchange, being adjacent to Charing Cross.

Unfortunately I suspect anarchists who wish to destroy our way of life will again hijack it so be careful, I would avoid the area if I was passing through London. If people just wanted to march, that'd be fine, but sadly you always get lunatic anarchists wanting to spoil it.

Is the march tomorrow? I might join them on my way past. ;)

the detour is free, as has been mentioned, take the tube to embankment, then catch a train from charing cross (any train) and change at London Bridge for an East Croydon service!
